国家领军人才,欧洲科学与艺术院院士,国际音乐学会东亚协会(IMSEA)主席,教育部首届全国高校美育教学指导委员会委员,亚洲音乐学理事会会长,南京师范大学特聘教授、博士生导师。为国际英文音乐学期刊《亚洲音乐学》、牛津大学出版社《牛津中国和海外华人音乐手册》以及兰培德出版社学术丛书《亚洲的音乐与社会》主编,Nature子刊《人文与社科通讯》编委,世界权威乐器百科全书《格鲁夫乐器辞典》华语地区特约撰稿人。
早年就读并任教于上海音乐学院,后获全额奖学金赴美国威斯理安大学(Wesleyan University)随马克·斯洛宾(Mark Slobin)教授攻读并获得民族音乐学专业哲学博士学位(2000)。长期从事民族音乐学、乐律学、中国传统音乐、世界民族音乐、中国音乐史和数字音乐学领域的研究工作,并先后任沈阳师范大学、宁波大学和云南大学艺术学院院长。
近年来先后以中、英、俄文发表包括Computer Music Journal 封面文章在内的SSCI、A&HCI、SCI, CSSCI和中文核心期刊收录论文80余篇。在包括牛津大学出版社、劳特莱奇出版社、施普林格·自然出版社、莫斯科国立大学出版、兰培德出版社、商务印书馆和浙江大学出版社在内的海内外著名学术出版社先后出版中、英、俄文专著、译著和合著20余本,主编丛书四套,先后多次应邀担任在马来西亚、爱尔兰、韩国和中国等地召开的重要国际学术组织年会主旨演讲人,以及在意大利、俄罗斯等国举办的国际音乐比赛中国籍评委,并先后入选浙江、云南和福建等省的高层次人才计划。
Prof. Dr. YU Hui is a Distinguished Professor of Musicology at Nanjing Normal University. He began his academic career as a tenured faculty member at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music in the early 1990s, and after earning his Ph.D. in ethnomusicology from Wesleyan University in the United States (2000), he successively served as Dean of the Faculty of Arts at Shenyang Normal University, Ningbo University, and Yunnan University.
His extensive scholarship spans ethnomusicology, digital musicology, traditional Chinese music practice and history, and ancient Chinese music theory. He has published more than eighty papers in A&HCI, SSCI, SCI, CSSCI, and other core journals, alongside more than a dozen books and book chapters in Chinese, English, and Russian with leading international publishers, including Oxford University Press, Palgrave Macmillan, Routledge, Peter Lang Publishing, Moscow State University Press, the Commercial Press of China, and Zhejiang University Press.
Professor Yu is a Fellow of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts; Chair of the Steering Committee of the International Musicological Society's East Asia Regional Association (IMSEA); a member of the inaugural National Committee for Aesthetic Education in Higher Education (Ministry of Education, China); President of the Council for Asian Musicology; and Editor-in-Chief of the international journal Asian Musicology.
